Today, Thursday, December 12, 2024, His Highness Prince Hazim Tahsin Saeed (Prince of the Yazidis in Iraq and the world, and Head of the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Yazidis) met with Mr. Reber Ahmed, the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
During their meeting, they discussed several important matters concerning the regional situation. They addressed the ongoing events in Syria and their impact on the security situation in the Kurdistan Region, as well as the difficult circumstances facing the Yazidi community in the region.
His Highness emphasized the importance of providing support and assistance to the Yazidis, who have encountered numerous challenges in recent years. He highlighted the critical need for basic services and the safe return of displaced persons. The situation in Sinjar city was also a key topic, with both sides stressing the importance of strengthened cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad in implementing agreements regarding the city’s reconstruction and the provision of essential services to its residents.
They both underlined the necessity of coordinating efforts among relevant authorities to facilitate the return of displaced Yazidis to their homes and to create a safe and stable environment for them. Additionally, they emphasized the need for joint action to improve humanitarian conditions and provide aid to the affected communities.
