Mahama Khalil: We Will File a Complaint at the Federal Court January 29, 2025 News Center – Sama A member of the KDP faction in the Iraqi Parliament announced that they will file a complaint at the Federal Court regarding the non-implementation of the Sinjar Agreement.
Mahama Khalil, a member of the KDP faction in the Iraqi Parliament, announced through the official website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party: After several years of signing the Sinjar Agreement, the articles within the agreement have not been implemented and the situation in Sinjar has not been normalized, despite this being one of the main points in the current Iraqi government’s agenda.
The Iraqi parliamentarian says: “In the past few days, I asked the Iraqi Interior Minister about normalizing the situation in Sinjar, and he responded that ‘the PKK is preventing the normalization of Sinjar’s situation and creating obstacles to the Sinjar Agreement.’”
He says: “In the coming days, we will file a complaint at the Federal Court regarding the non-implementation of the Sinjar Agreement. Legal accountability must be pursued and the situation in Sinjar must be normalized.”
On October 9, 2020, Erbil and Baghdad signed an agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar in terms of political, administrative, and security aspects, but until now, none of its articles have been implemented.
