The Lalish Cultural and Social Center, Sinuni branch, held a discussion session on Thursday, February 27, 2025, regarding the launch of the Entrepreneurship Initiative.
The session hosted advisors to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Dr. Khalaf al-Sinjari and Dr. Hussein al-Kaabi, with the attendance of the center’s staff, individuals interested in the Yazidi and Shingali affairs, as well as a number of Yazidi graduates, at the Lalish Sharya Center in Duhok Governorate.
The Prime Minister’s advisors discussed the government’s efforts to support the private sector and improve its economic reality through programs aimed at young graduates who wish to work in the private sector, as well as supporting small projects through the Entrepreneurship Initiative. The working mechanism in Duhok will be coordinated with the Lalish Cultural and Social Center’s High Commission, and several training centers will be opened in Duhok and Sinjar.
Dr. Sinjari and Dr. Kaabi then addressed the attendees’ questions about the electronic Entrepreneurship Initiative, including a question from “Sama” about the application process and whether there are specific provisions for Yazidi survivors. They clarified that there will be special provisions for survivors, allowing them to submit their projects, and there is no limit on the number of applicants. The initiative is open to people aged 16 to 50.
This session is part of a series of discussions organized by the branches of the Lalish Cultural and Social Center in Sinjar, Sinuni, and other Yazidi regions in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to address key issues related to the region and the Yazidi community in general.
