The teacher, writer, and advisor of the Yazidi spiritual council Fahmi Hassan Ammar, also known as “Fahmi Father of Rojan, was born in 1952 in the village of Kewreni in the Silevanies region of Zakho district, but because of the September Revolution He has been displaced several times with his family to Sinjar, Sheikhan and for his last time he resided Ba’adre.
Fahmi Hassan completed his primary education in Derabun and Gohbal, secondary education in Sheikhan and Sinjar and high school in Mosul.
He participated in a teacher training course in Baghdad for six months and became a teacher in 1977. He has 38 years of teaching service and has been a director and supervisor of education in Sheikhan district He was an advisor to the Yazidi spiritual council for eleven years.
He graduated from the College of General Education at St. Clement’s University and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology at St. Clement’s Free University, he also became a Peshmarga in getting wounded seriously.
He has done extensive services in the field of writing and journalism
* He was a reporter for Payman and Evro newspapers for more than ten years.
– Member of Kurdistan Union of Journalists Duhok Branch.
– He was in charge of the Kurdish section of the newspaper Denge Lalsh for four years.
– The first president of the Lalish Baadre Center.
– He was the editor of the first magazine in Ba’adre called Slavgaha Lalish.
In terms of organizational work, he was one of the founders of the Alnd Organization for Youth Democratization in Duhok.
He has published several reports and research on Yezidism, the Kurdish nation, and ancient Kurdish history in newspapers and magazines of the region, including (Lalish, Mahfal, Peyv, Asoye Parwarda, Dangi Peshmerga, Nur Lalsh, Chray Lalish). etc.
He has published several books including:
1. Kurdish states before Christ, Mitanni, and Huri as an example.
2. Yazidis are the remains of Mithras.
3. Yazidi and Zoroastrianism in the balance of history.
4. Ancient religions of Mesopotamia and Zagros.
5. Teaching methods and their effect on success rate (in Arabic).
Unfortunately, due to his continuous illness, he passed away on 4/7/2021 in Germany.
