Kurdistan Tourism Board Expects Over 300,000 Tourists During Eid al-Adha Holiday

Spokesperson for the Kurdistan Region Tourism Board, Ibrahim Abdulmajid, stated on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, that over 300,000 tourists are expected to visit the region during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday Abdulmajid said: “We have made all necessary preparations to welcome tourists at various tourism sites during the Eid holiday.”

He added that preparations are being made on two levels — the public and private sectors, with strong inter-agency cooperation across the Kurdistan Region, particularly in securing checkpoints, which play a crucial role in facilitating tourists’ access to the region.

He also noted that several committees have been formed across the general directorates, each tasked with different responsibilities to closely monitor the situation. “Four hotline numbers have been set up — one for each of the four provinces and four independent administrations — to assist tourists in case of emergency,” he said.

 

Abdulmajid emphasized full coordination with restaurants, hotels, and all private-sector tourism establishments, noting that they have been advised to remain open throughout the holidays to ensure tourists can access all

available services.
