From Captivity to Courage: The Story of Amera Ali

Sema

In 2014, during the genocide committed by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria against the Yazidi people in Sinjar, northern Iraq, Amera Ali was only ten years old when she was captured and endured months of suffering.
Today, after rebuilding her life in Australia, Amera shares her story through her powerful memoir For Ali, For Us All: Messages From Captivity, which preserves the words she wrote during captivity.
Amera now lives in Armidale and continues to raise her voice for truth and justice.
We invite everyone to show their support for Amera Ali and stand in solidarity with her courage.
