According to the president of the International Yazidi Organization for Combating Genocide, significant work has been done at a high level to recognize the Yazidi genocide.
So far, more than 18 countries and organizations at the international level, including the Kurdistan Region, have recognized the Yazidi case as genocide.
Haso Hormi, president of the International Yazidi Organization for Combating Genocide, today, August 8, 2024, in a special statement to Sama, declared that good steps have been taken for the genocide case. Now, France and Portugal have sent their investigative judges to the Kurdistan Region to collect evidence and take testimonies from Yazidi survivors of ISIS.
Hormi revealed: There are hotter events on the global agenda, Yazidis need to follow up and work seriously on recognizing the genocide at a high level.
ISIS terrorists attacked the Sinjar area on August 3, 2014, and committed genocide against the Yazidis. In that attack, thousands of Yazidi citizens were killed, captured, and displaced, and more than 2,000 Yazidi children were orphaned.
According to the latest statistics from the Office for Rescuing Yazidi Captives, the fate of more than two thousand Yazidi captives is still unknown.
