The head of the Azadi art Troupe says: The activities we carry out contained awareness and a humanitarian message that we used, emphasizing that all types of art have their sanctity and we viewed our work with an enlightened perspective.
Hussein Baadri, the head of the Azadi Art Troupe , explained that their troupe consists of theater, visual arts and music sections. So far, they have conducted several activities such as opening music and art learning courses and presenting theatrical performances. They have also preserved more than 100 pieces of folklore in the troupe’s museum, taking ownership of ancestral folklore and protecting it from disappearing.
Baadri emphasized, “The activities we carry out contained awareness and a humanitarian message that we used, emphasizing that all types of art have their sanctity. We also serve humanity through art.”
After the downfall of the Baathist regime in 2003, the Azadi Troupe was established by a group of concerned artists and intellectuals in the Sheikhan area. Its headquarters is now in the village of Bebane in the Alqosh district, where it continues its work and activities.
