Approximately 800 displaced families are living in harsh conditions on Mount Shingal

Sema

Nearly 800 displaced families are still living in harsh conditions at Sardasht camp on Mount Shingal, deprived of aid. These families fled to the area on August 3, 2014, when ISIS terrorists attacked the Shingal district, seeking refuge from genocide. They have remained in the camp ever since.

Ali Shamo, the head of the volunteer Nurang Group at Sardasht camp, shared that for the past 10 years, these displaced families have been enduring extremely difficult conditions. Unfortunately, no humanitarian or charitable organizations are currently present to provide help. As winter approaches, the families are in desperate need of assistance. Shamo called on all humanitarian groups to step in and support these families.

The Sardasht camp has been officially closed and is now neglected by the Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement, leaving the displaced people without the aid they need.
