His Highness Prince Hazem Tahsin Saeed, the Prince of the Yazidis in Iraq and the world, and the President of the Yazidi Supreme Spiritual Council, met with Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, today, Thursday, December 5, 2024.
During the meeting, His Highness praised the integrity of the Iraqi judiciary, stating that it is a source of pride for all of us to have such esteemed judicial standing in Iraq. He emphasized the importance of pursuing and prosecuting those who committed crimes against humanity (genocide) against the Yazidis in Sinjar on August 3, 2014.
His Highness also commended the efforts of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani’s government in implementing transitional justice and bringing terrorists to justice. He highlighted the importance of providing justice and reparation to the victims and those affected by the Yazidi genocide.
Additionally, His Highness discussed the cases of Yazidi citizens currently pending in the courts.
