On the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Women Union (KWU), Kurdistan Region President (KRP) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Vice President Nechirvan Barzani issued a heartfelt congratulatory message, acknowledging the union’s profound contributions to the development of society and the empowerment of women in Kurdistan.
In his message, the KDP Vice President expressed his warm congratulations to the KWU, emphasizing its significant role in promoting social progress and advancing the values of equality and justice. “Since its founding in 1952, the Kurdistan Women Union has stood as a symbol of national struggle, relentlessly working to secure women’s rights and elevate their status in every aspect of life,” he stated.
He also praised the union’s ongoing efforts, highlighting its vital role in building a civil society, defending women’s rights, and paving the way for a better future for women in Kurdistan. “Throughout its long history, the KWU has been a key partner in shaping a civil society and has consistently been a source of strength and innovation in advocating for women’s rights,” Barzani added.
