Over 89,000 Tourists Visit Erbil During Eid al-Adha

The Erbil Civil Defense Directorate reported 16 fires during Eid al-Adha, none of which resulted in casualties.

rbil Governorate announced on Monday that 89,301 tourists visited the tourist destinations of Erbil province during the four days of Eid al-Adha.

According to Erbil Governorate figures, 42 crimes were registered during the holiday period, with 41 crimes detected and one currently under investigation.

The Erbil Traffic Directorate recorded 17 traffic accidents during the holiday, resulting in nine injuries and one fatality.

The Erbil Civil Defense Directorate reported 16 fires during Eid al-Adha, none of which resulted in casualties.

During this time, a total of 6,575 patients visited hospitals, including 305 cases requiring treatment for various incidents. Additionally, 71 children were born, 40 female and 31 male. A total of 81 surgeries were performed, and 383 kidney dialysis sessions were conducted.

To prevent the spread of hemorrhagic fever, municipal police in Erbil have closed four meat markets in the village of Girda Rasha.

Twenty-two sheep and two pickup trucks were seized. Despite the disposal of 1,124 tonnes of animal waste by environmental teams, 108,000 tourists visited local parks and gardens, with 30,000 visiting Sami Abdulrahman Park alone.

The Erbil Governorate also reported that 1,461 animals were slaughtered during the four days of Eid al-Adha.
