Anter Kalo: The Yazidi genocide should be taught in educational programs

Sama reports that a supervisor of Yazidi education wants the Yazidi genocide at the hands of ISIS terrorists to be taught in educational programs in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Antar Kalo, the supervisor of Yazidi education, told Sama that the Yazidi genocide is one of the greatest crimes of the 21st century. He said that all people in Kurdistan and Iraq need to know what ISIS terrorists did to the civilian Yazidi people when they took control of Sinjar, how they brutally buried the elderly alive, killed innocent children and youth, and sold girls and women in markets.

He also made it clear that in order not to forget these crimes against humanity committed against the Yazidis, they should be taught at all levels of education, universities, and institutes throughout the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The Yazidi Kurds faced extermination and genocide at the hands of ISIS savages in Sinjar. Even 10 years after the genocide, the pain and suffering of the Yazidis continue.”

This text discusses the importance of educating people about the Yazidi genocide committed by ISIS, emphasizing the need to include this tragic history in educational curricula across Kurdistan and Iraq. It highlights the brutality of the crimes committed and the ongoing impact on the Yazidi community, even a decade after the events.
