We remember the third anniversary of the passing of Yazidi intellectual, writer, and researcher “Pir Khidr Suleiman,” who on this day, 15/11/2021, like a bright star fell from the sky of Kurdish culture and darkened our nation’s culture and literature, passing away due to illness.
Intellectual, writer, and researcher “Pir Khidr Suleiman” was one of the main founders of the Lalish Center for Cultural and Social and was a symbol of loyalty, dedication, and patriotism. He was a magical lover of Kurdish and Yazidi culture, a tireless fighter and activist, and a brilliant leader in advancing society.
Pir Khidr played a prominent and worthy role in Kurdish culture and literature, especially in the field of Yazidi studies. He was able to collect and preserve Yazidi Qawls, Beyts, and Qasidas from oral tradition, and was the first writer to author a Yazidi textbook for Yazidi students.
We pray to the Great God to bless his soul with paradise and grant patience and comfort to his family.
