His Highness Prince Hazem Tahsin Saeed (the Prince of the Yazidis in Iraq and the World and President of the Supreme Yazidi Spiritual Council) visited the Kurdistan Region Parliament. He was received by Mr. Ardalan Houlery, the President of the Parliament’s Bureau, and Mr. Hiwa Nasraddin, the Deputy President of the Bureau, in the presence of Dr. Fian Shikhlawi, an advisor, Sheikh Zaidu Baadri, Nasser Kirit Nasser, and the journalist Rizgar Lashkri, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
During this visit, His Highness discussed several issues related to the Yazidi community, particularly their participation as members of the parliament since the first parliamentary term. He emphasized that the Yazidis deserve a quota in the Kurdistan Region Parliament, just like other communities, and that they should have special consideration in many of the issues discussed in the parliament.
