Prince Hazem Tahsin Saeed received Sheikh Marshed Mashouq Al-Khaznawi at the Emir’s Palace in Shekhan, where both parties discussed the topic of peaceful coexistence between religions and emphasized the importance of enshrining the Yazidi faith in the new Syrian constitution, as well as protecting their full rights.

During the meeting, Sheikh Al-Khaznawi highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence among all religious and ethnic groups in Syria, pointing out that religious and cultural diversity should be a source of strength and unity, not division. He also called for the rejection of sectarian rhetoric that aims to incite strife among people, stressing that unity among the components of society is the only guarantee for a secure and stable future.

Sheikh Al-Khaznawi further emphasized the role of religion in promoting national unity, stating that religion should serve as a factor of rapprochement, not division. He stressed the need for cooperation among all groups to face external challenges threatening the region’s stability, particularly interventions that seek to undermine social security.

For his part, Prince Hazem Tahsin Saeed reiterated his full support for the rights of religious minorities, including the Yazidis, and pointed out the importance of including their rights in the new Syrian constitution to ensure equality and social justice.
