After more than two years of hardship, an agreement was reached today to resolve the issue of unpaid salaries for teachers and educators who were officially transferred between the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Ministry of Education/Nineveh Education, and who continued working without receiving their financial entitlements.
Vian Dakhil stated:
“Based on the appeals we received from a number of teachers and educators who were transferred — through official approvals between the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Ministry of Education/Nineveh — more than two years ago, and who have continued working throughout this time without receiving their due salaries,
we met today in Baghdad with the Federal Minister of Education, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Namous. An agreement was reached to permanently resolve this issue after completing all the formal procedures.”
She added:
“The Minister, thankfully, confirmed his approval of the matter and referred the file to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers after obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities, in preparation for making the final decision and closing the case.”
She also confirmed that communication had been made with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to expedite the resolution of the case and ensure the financial entitlements are paid soon — finally bringing an end to a suffering that lasted for more than two years.
