President Masoud Barzani congratulated the cadres, members, and supporters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Party’s founding, emphasizing that its establishment on August 16, 1946, was a historical necessity to continue the Kurdish people’s struggle against the conspiracies of enemies seeking to break their will.
In a statement issued on Saturday marking the 79th anniversary, President Barzani said “I extend my warmest congratulations to all the cadres, members, and supporters of the Party. I also congratulate the families of the martyrs, the heroic Peshmerga, and all segments of the people of Kurdistan, wishing them peace and success.”
He added:“The founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party was a historical necessity to continue the Kurdish people’s struggle against the conspiracies of its enemies who sought to suppress their voice and break their will. Since then, the Party has stood as a defender of the Kurdish people’s rights and existence, helped raise international awareness of their cause, and worked toward achieving the Kurdish people’s national and democratic aspirations.”
President Barzani further stated:“Since its inception, the Party has carried a message of peace, upheld the principles of pluralism, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence, and played a leading role during critical phases in the political history of both Kurdistan and Iraq.”
In conclusion, President Barzani delivered a special message to the Party’s members and supporters:“The Kurdistan Democratic Party is the party of the Kurdish cause and the high values of the Kurdish people. It is the party of the immortal Barzani’s legacy and a source of hope for the Kurdish nation. Therefore, all members and cadres must live up to the greatness of the Party, its history, and the sacrifices of its martyrs, and must carry out their duties with integrity in service of Kurdistan’s prosperity, stability, and progress. The stronger the Kurdistan Democratic Party is, the stronger Kurdistan will be.”
