President Masoud Barzani emphasized that the culture of crimes against the Kurds should no longer exist within the mentality of Iraq’s rulers, pointing out that the first genocide against the Kurds began with the Fayli Kurds.
This came in his speech on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Conference on the Genocide Against the Kurds held at the University of Duhok.
In his address, President Barzani stated that “the genocide against the Kurdish people began with a plan and a program,” adding that “the fate of the people of Kurdistan throughout history has always been pain, suffering, and oppression,” noting that “the world does not appreciate the peace-loving nature of the Kurdish people.”
