His Eminence Prince Hazim Tahsin Saeed (Prince of the Ezidis in Iraq and the world, and President of the Ezidi Supreme Spiritual Council) met with the Greek Ambassador to Iraq, Georgios Almanos, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission.

At the beginning of the meeting—which was attended by the Greek Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Nikolaos Stergioulas, and Dr. Khalaf al-Sanjari (Advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister on Ezidi Affairs)—His Eminence praised the role of the Greek government in providing assistance to the Ezidis during the ISIS invasion and for opening Greece’s doors to refugees fleeing to Europe during those difficult times.

He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the ambassador’s dedicated efforts throughout his tenure in following up on the conditions of the displaced and striving to ensure their return to their homeland.

The Prince emphasized the importance of keeping the Ezidi cause present in international, regional, and local forums.

For his part, the Greek Ambassador expressed his hope for the return of the displaced Ezidis and for resolving the displacement issue. He affirmed Greece’s continued support for the Ezidi cause and the importance of serious efforts to search for the missing Ezidi women and men.
