The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, H. E. Masrour Barzani, issued a congratulatory message today, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, on the occasion of the New Year 2026. The message reads as follows:
“As we welcome the New Year 2026, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to all citizens of the Kurdistan Region and all Kurdistanis everywhere, wishing everyone a year filled with joy, peace, and happiness.
The past year came to an end carrying a set of achievements and the launch of important strategic projects, despite the many challenges and obstacles it witnessed. Thanks to God Almighty, and then to the steadfastness and resilience of the proud people of Kurdistan, we were able to continue advancing the government reform process on various levels. This includes providing citizens with uninterrupted electricity, addressing the water shortage, constructing more roads and bridges, and strengthening the financial and banking infrastructure. We remain committed to delivering the best possible services to all the people of Kurdistan.
On this occasion, we look forward to the formation of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, hoping it will take place soon after overcoming the deliberate obstacles that have unfortunately delayed the completion of this constitutional duty. The higher interests of Kurdistan must no longer be sacrificed for the benefit of any party. At the same time, we also hope to see the formation of the federal government in the near future, in a way that upholds the principles of partnership, balance, and consensus.
