“On behalf of the government and myself, I am here to listen to your perspectives, address any questions you may have, and engage in an open and friendly discussion,” he stated.
In a special program on the K24 media channel, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a town hall meeting with residents of Sulaimani province, addressing their questions and discussing various pressing issues.
Prime Minister Barzani carefully considered the demands and needs of Sulaimani residents, offering thoughtful responses.
At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister said, “This is the first time I am directly engaging with citizens in such a setting. We are here for an honest and open dialogue on several critical issues affecting our citizens and our nation.”
“On behalf of the government and myself, I am here to listen to your perspectives, address your questions, and have an open and friendly discussion,” he added.
A resident asked about the increasing youth migration to European countries, particularly from Qaladze and Ranya, and the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) plans to create job opportunities in the region.
“It is truly disheartening that our youth are migrating. Let me speak candidly: do you need money to migrate? Does it pay off? First and foremost, the smugglers and political opportunists who exploit the lives of citizens for their profit are the main culprits,” the premier responded.
“The government is committed to helping young people secure employment. We have focused on economic diversification in Kurdistan to reduce our reliance on energy, oil, and gas,” he continued. “We have invested in agriculture, promoted tourism, and supported industrial growth. However, these changes take time.”
Later, the Prime Minister posted on X, “These conversations across the Kurdistan Region will continue to influence me personally and shape my agenda.”
