On Saturday, March 15, 2025, with the aim of renewing the pledge and continuing the struggle in the path of the immortal Barzani, a high-level delegation from the Lalish Cultural and Social Center visited the Immortal Martyrs’ Shrine in the Barzan region.
The delegation was received by Sheikh Khalat Barzani, representative of President Masoud Barzani. At the beginning of the visit, the delegation, headed by Mr. Saeed Jirdo, Dr. Saeed Khadida, Vice President of the Center, members of the Center’s Higher Committee, and officials from the Lalesh branches and offices, as well as administrative figures and Yazidi intellectuals from various Yazidi areas, laid a wreath at the Immortal Martyrs’ Shrine, expressing their condolences to the Yazidi community for the passing of the immortal Barzani.
Afterwards, Mr. Saeed Jirdo, the Head of the Center, delivered a speech on behalf of the delegation, highlighting the struggle and efforts of the late leaders, “Mullah Mustafa Barzani and Idris Barzani,” for the Kurdish people’s cause and the legitimate rights of all the components of Kurdistan. He emphasized that this visit to the Immortal Martyrs’ Shrine has become a cultural tradition for all components, classes, and segments of the Kurdistan Region.
Saeed Jirdo said, “As the Lalesh Center, we consider this visit a duty, and with pride, we perform this duty with all our branches and offices in all Yazidi areas. We renew the pledge and continue the struggle to strengthen the philosophy of brotherhood, coexistence, and acceptance of others, which were the principles of these leaders in the Kurdish community.”
Jirdo also emphasized, “We hope and look forward to President and reference Masoud Barzani and the Kurdistan Regional Government being strong supporters of Yazidi rights, so that all components of Kurdistan can play their role in building a free and prosperous Kurdistan.”
As an expression of loyalty and to renew the pledge and continue the struggle, the Lalish Cultural and Social Center, along with its branches and offices, visits the Immortal Martyrs’ Shrine annually.
