The Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Tuesday that six of its fighters were killed and 30 others wounded in two separate attacks involving six Iranian ballistic missiles that targeted military sites in the Soran sector.

According to an official statement, the missiles struck the headquarters of the 7th Infantry Brigade in the “First Axis,” as well as a site belonging to the 5th Infantry Brigade near the borders of the Soran area early this morning.

The ministry strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a “violation of the principles of good neighborliness and humanitarian values,” and affirmed its “right to respond to any aggression targeting the land and people of the region.”

It added that this escalation contradicts the “peaceful approach” adopted by the Kurdistan Region, calling on the federal government in Baghdad and the international community not to remain silent and to take concrete measures to end these repeated attacks and prevent the risks of war and instability in the region.
