His Highness Prince Hazim Tahsin Saeed (Prince of the Yazidis in Iraq and the world and President of the Supreme Yazidi Spiritual Council) met with Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani (Prime Minister of Iraq) in the presence of several notable figures. The meeting took place today, Monday, December 2, 2024, in Baghdad.
During the meeting, His Highness praised Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani’s efforts in strengthening national unity and defending the Yazidis. The Prince discussed the issue of Sinjar with the Prime Minister, emphasizing that one of the most important demands of the Yazidis today is the matter of Sinjar and the dignified return of the displaced Yazidis.
His Highness also stressed the importance of Yazidi representation in the government, the implementation of the land ownership decision for the Yazidis, and the allocation of job grades for the Yazidis, especially in the police force.
On his part, Mr. Al-Sudani reaffirmed that the Yazidi people are an integral part of our country, emphasizing the necessity of working towards their justice and compensation for the sacrifices they made during the war against ISIS terrorist gangs. The Prime Minister indicated that the government is committed to supporting the Yazidi community by implementing service and economic projects in their areas to ensure the return of displaced Yazidi families to their homes. He also affirmed the continuation of efforts to uncover the fate of the missing and disappeared Yazidis and to resolve this issue due to its humanitarian, social, and legal implications.
