His Highness Prince Hazem Tahsin Saeed (the Emir of the Yazidis in Iraq and the World, and Head of the Yazidi Supreme Spiritual Council) praised the briefing presented by Dr. Mohamed Al-Hassan (the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General) at the UN Security Council, highlighting the suffering of the Yazidi displaced persons in the displacement camps.
His Highness stated that the briefing came following the Special Representative’s visit to the displacement camps, where he was received at the Lalish Temple, and was provided with a comprehensive explanation of the situation of the Yazidis and the atrocities they suffered at the hands of the ISIS terrorist group on August 3, 2014.
The Prince emphasized that such a briefing, which is characterized by accuracy, credibility, and a high sense of humanitarian responsibility, reflects Dr. Mohamed Al-Hassan’s diplomatic proficiency and distinguished political experience.
He also affirmed that they are committed to defending the rights of the Yazidis in international, regional, and local forums to ensure justice for the victims, and to continue their efforts to facilitate the return of the Yazidi displaced persons to their areas, dignified and honored.
