The Iraqi Ministry of Health has employed more than 6,000 healthcare graduates, but not a single person from Article 140 areas was hired. According to a document issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Health on 14/1/2025, it was decided to employ 6,305 healthcare graduates from colleges and institutes. Dr. Majid Shingali, Head of the Health Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, announced today, January 15, 2025, to Sama: The Iraqi Ministry of Health has employed 6,305 university and institute graduates, but not a single person from Shingal and Article 140 areas was hired. The people of Shingal have the right to be employed since Shingal is administratively part of Iraq.
The Head of the Parliamentary Health Committee confirmed that in the coming days, they will hold a meeting with Dr. Salih Mahdi Hasnawi, the Iraqi Minister of Health, to inquire about the reasons for not employing people from Article 140 areas, particularly the people of Shingal, and afterward, they will announce the results to the public. A large number of residents from Kurdish areas outside the Kurdistan Region’s administration are graduates of healthcare departments from colleges and institutes in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, but none of them were employed and were deprived of opportunities.
