The Vice President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masrour Barzani, issued a congratulatory message on Sunday, February 18, 2025, marking the 72nd anniversary of the founding of both the Kurdistan Students Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union.
Masrour Barzani stated in the following statement:
On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Students Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union, I extend my warmest congratulations to the General Secretariat offices and the members of both the Students Union and the Democratic Youth Union, and I wish them progress.
The Kurdistan Students Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union have a brilliant history in organizing and serving students and youth, defending their rights and demands, and developing their capabilities. They have also played an important and influential role in the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, our national and ethnic struggle, and defending the rights of the people of Kurdistan and our national achievements.
The Kurdistan Students Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union have been rich and beneficial schools, producing dozens of competent leaders in Kurdistan, and I was proud to be a member of the student and youth cadre.
Now, as both organizations have intensified their efforts and completed preparations for reuniting, I hope the two unions continue their work and struggle to advance organizational efforts in a more progressive way, in line with the developments of this era, to always be at the forefront of progress, leadership, renewal, and innovation, and to serve the new generation and the students and youth of Kurdistan in the best and most advanced ways.
