Vian Dakhil to Survivor Eman Abdullah: “You are the light on a long road, and a symbol of victory”

Sema

Eman Abdullah
That young girl who was kidnapped by the terrorist organization ISIS, then freed from its grip, and returned to us not as a victim, but as a survivor—a symbol of strength and triumph over oppression.

Today, Eman is a beautiful, successful young woman, proud like Mount Sinjar, moving forward in her life and career with confidence, representing hope for all those who have suffered.

Eman, who survived the horrors of ISIS, is now the supervisor of the grant provided by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr. Masrour Barzani, to Ezidi survivors.

At the Duhok Conference, I was honored with a recognition plaque, but I chose to let Eman receive it on my behalf, because the true honor belongs to the one who walked through darkness and returned carrying the light.

I dedicate this plaque, with great pride, to all kidnapped Ezidi women, and to all survivors of ISIS terror—foremost among them, Eman, whom I consider a daughter, just like every other survivor.

With her faith, patience, and determination, Eman rose from the rubble and proved that willpower is stronger than oppression—and that light, in the end, always prevails.
