In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
As we mark the 49th anniversary of the Gulan Revolution, we remember a defining moment in the history of the Kurdish struggle—a moment that reflected the resilience, courage, and unwavering determination of the people of Kurdistan.
The Gulan Revolution stands as one of the most vital turning points in our ongoing movement for freedom. It was a natural continuation of the message and aspirations of the Great September Revolution. Despite the hardship and despair that followed the collapse of that earlier revolution—including forced displacement and the mounting pressures imposed by enemies—our people rose once again. Through a well-organized and strategically coordinated plan, driven by sheer will and patriotism, they ignited the spark of a new revolution: Gulan.
During this crucial phase, the people of Kurdistan endured great suffering. Countless Peshmerga fighters made the ultimate sacrifice, laying down their lives for the cause of Kurdistan. Thousands of families faced displacement and endured tremendous hardships. Yet, the Gulan Revolution delivered a clear and resolute message to all: the Kurdish will to resist oppression and fight for freedom is indestructible and must continue, regardless of the challenges.
On this anniversary, we pay tribute to the soul of the first martyr of the Gulan Revolution, Martyr Sayid Abdullah Haji Omarani, and honor the memory of all the martyrs of Kurdistan who gave their lives for our dignity and future.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude and deep respect to all the brave Peshmerga, freedom fighters, and patriots who took part in this revolution. Their courage and sacrifices have etched an unforgettable legacy of honor in the annals of Kurdish history.
