Duhok and Zakho qualified for the Iraq Cup final on Saturday after defeating last season’s champion, Al-Shorta, and runner-up Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Air Force Club), respectively.
The 32nd edition of the Iraq Cup will witness the crowning of a new champion for the first time in history, as neither Duhok nor Zakho has ever won the title. Al-Zawraa remains the most decorated club in the tournament’s history with 16 titles.
Duhok secured their place in the final with a 3–1 victory over Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, while Zakho advanced by defeating Al-Shorta in a penalty shootout (4–3) after a goalless draw in regular time.
