Adidas announced that sales of the German national team jersey for this year’s World Cup have increased threefold compared to the previous World Cup in Qatar. The company also stated that the jersey of Kurdish player Deniz Undav is among the five best-selling Mannschaft jerseys.
Oliver Brüggen, Managing Director of Adidas Europe, said: “So far, we have sold nearly three million of Germany’s new national team jerseys worldwide for the 2026 World Cup. This is three times the number sold during the Qatar World Cup.”
Regarding the German players whose jerseys have received the highest demand, including Kurdish player Deniz Undav, the Adidas official stated: “Deniz’s jersey is among the top five best-selling German player jerseys.” He added: “Due to the exceptional and unprecedented demand for the jerseys of Undav, Havertz, and Pavlović, the letter ‘V’ temporarily ran out in our name-printing warehouses, which created some difficulties. However, the issue has now been resolved.”
Germany’s national team was eliminated in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, held in Boston, USA, after losing to Paraguay and exiting the tournament.
Deniz Undav was one of the standout stars of Germany’s team during this World Cup, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
The 29-year-old Deniz Undav currently plays for German club Stuttgart and has a contract with the club until 2029. According to German media reports, Undav earns €5 million per season and also received a €4 million bonus for signing his new contract.
