Masrour Barzani congratulates the Kurdistan Women’s Union on its anniversary and praises its struggle

The Deputy President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masrour Barzani, sent a congratulatory message today, Thursday (December 11, 2025), on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Women’s Union, praising the pioneering role the union has played in the history of the Kurdish liberation movement and in defending women’s rights.

Masrour Barzani said in the message:
“On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Women’s Union, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to the Secretary, the members of the Secretariat Office, and all members of the Union, wishing them continued success and prosperity.”

The Deputy President of the Democratic Party referred to the historic milestones of the union, highlighting the important and pioneering role it has played in the history of the people of Kurdistan, as it has always stood at the forefront in defending women’s rights and the legitimate rights of our people.

He added that the Kurdistan Women’s Union has been an unparalleled supporter of the Peshmerga forces and a shining example of struggle, sacrifice, and devotion in the pursuit of the rights of the people of Kurdistan, also noting the union’s prominent role in training and developing many women leaders.

At the end of his message, Masrour Barzani expressed his hope that the Kurdistan Women’s Union will continue its pioneering role and organizational struggle to achieve its goals of serving the women of Kurdistan even more, and defending their legitimate rights and demands.
