In an exclusive interview with Sema TV, Amina Zakri, member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stated that Ezidis do not have just a single representative in the Iraqi Parliament, but hold 27 official seats, emphasizing that all the party’s seats are dedicated to the Ezidi community and managed under the party’s supervision to serve them.
Zakri added that the Kurdistan Democratic Party ensures support for all minorities in the Kurdistan Region, including Ezidis, Shabaks, and Christians, and that any needs or demands of these communities are promptly addressed through the party’s parliamentary faction.
She concluded, “This is why I affirm that the Ezidis do not hold only 27 seats, but 28 seats,” highlighting the strength of Ezidi political representation in the Iraqi Parliament.
