In an exclusive interview with Kurdistan 24, former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi praised Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani’s approach during his recent visit to Baghdad, highlighting Barzani’s focus on solutions.

Allawi shared that President Barzani expressed satisfaction with his discussions with Iraqi officials.

Allawi stressed that Barzani’s visit underscored his dedication to resolving issues through dialogue rather than conflict. “President Barzani prefers dialogue over threats,” Allawi remarked.

He noted that Barzani’s natural inclination toward resolving issues has significantly influenced the unity of Iraqi perspectives on the Kurdish matter.

Allawi also recounted a personal exchange with Barzani during the meetings in Baghdad. “I asked about his meetings, and he responded that he was pleased with the results. This highlights Barzani’s solution-oriented mindset and independent stance,” Allawi said.

He affirmed his unwavering support for President Barzani, emphasizing his belief in Barzani’s commitment to constructive and peaceful resolutions.

President Barzani recently held 17 productive meetings with leaders of Iraqi political parties and senior governmental and political officials.
