A Turkish drone targeted a PKK vehicle in Sinjar district on Monday, causing multiple casualties, according to a federal police source.
The attack occurred in the village of Tal Qasab within the Sinjar district, resulting in four people being either killed or injured, the source told Kurdistan24’s correspondent Maher Shengali.
Ibrahim al-Sumaidaie, a member of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Consultation Committee, stated in a televised interview with Iraqi Dijlah TV that there is coordination between Baghdad and Ankara regarding Turkish military operations in the border areas of the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Sumaidaie highlighted that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) “is carrying out criminal operations,” and the Iraqi government has officially designated it a terrorist organization.
In a previous television interview, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of Iraq to Turkey and expressed a desire to collaborate with Baghdad in combating the PKK. “The instability in Iraq has benefited the PKK and other terrorist organizations,” Fidan said.
