The Office for the Rescue of Yazidi Abductees from ISIS recently shared updated statistics on the number of survivors. In August 2014, ISIS attacked Sinjar, capturing 6,417 Yazidis, including women, children, and men. Hussein Qaidi, the head of the office, reported on Sunday, February 16, 2025, that 3,585 people have been rescued so far. He emphasized that, with support from the Kurdistan Regional Government, efforts will continue until all abducted Yazidis are safely returned to their families. However, more than 2,000 Yazidis are still missing, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
