The University of Mosul announced today, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the appointment of Dr. Saeed Khadeeda Qulo as the head of the Human Rights Department.
The university published a statement saying: “In line with reinforcing the principles of justice and equality, and in support of the rights of all components of society, including the Yazidi community, Mr. Saeed Khadeeda Qulo has been appointed as the head of the Human Rights Department at the University of Mosul.”
Mr. Qulo is considered a prominent figure in the humanitarian field, with an extensive track record of advocating for human rights and supporting marginalized groups, making him a suitable choice for this position.
The university emphasized that this appointment represents recognition of the sacrifices made by the Yazidi people and belief in their role in establishing social justice principles. It expressed hope that Mr. Qulo will contribute to strengthening efforts to protect human rights and fairly represent all components of society.
