His Highness Prince Hazem Tahseen Said (Prince of the Ezidis in Iraq and the world, and Head of the Ezidi Supreme Spiritual Council) extends his heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to all Christians around the world, especially to the Christian communities in Iraq and Kurdistan, on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pope of the Vatican.
His Holiness Pope Francis was always a beacon of peace and a steadfast advocate for justice, carrying the banner of peace high and standing as a guiding light for the oppressed and marginalized across the globe. He was a defender of justice and a tireless promoter of a world free of hatred and resentment—a world filled with love and peace.
We will never forget his courageous stance and powerful words regarding the Ezidi genocide in Sinjar during the horrific ISIS invasion on August 3, 2014. His unwavering support for us and for the Ezidi cause in international forums will forever be remembered—especially during our meeting with him, in which he continuously emphasized the importance of respecting freedom of religion, belief, diversity, and pluralism throughout the world.
May his soul rest in peace and find eternal rest among the saints and the righteous in the heavenly realm. That is, indeed, the greatest reward.
