The Yazidi Studies Center announced on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the acceptance of four Yazidi students in the Department of Yazidi Studies at Leipzig University in Germany.
The center mentioned, “This is the second time Yazidi students have been accepted for PhD studies by Leipzig University, at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, Department of Yazidi Studies. This time, four students have been accepted, and their names are: Sami Salim Shamo, Kolstan Ibrahim, Maria Mandikoff, and Linda Jigo.”
According to the center, “They have been accepted to pursue PhD studies in Yazidi Studies in Germany and will present new research in various fields, including history, international law, and education.”
It is worth mentioning that there are other Yazidi students studying at Leipzig University, contributing to the academic knowledge of the Yazidi religion in great detail.
