Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani issued a statement on Thursday expressing condolences for the victims of the tragic fire in Kut, affirming the Region’s readiness to provide support.
The statement reads:
“With deep sorrow, we received the news of the tragic fire in the city of Kut. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for a swift recovery for the injured.
As always, the Kurdistan Region stands in solidarity with those affected. Our doors are open to the victims, and the Ministry of Health, along with all relevant institutions, has been placed on alert to provide medical treatment, necessary assistance, and everything the injured may need.”
The fire at a shopping center in Kut resulted in the deaths of at least 60 people, prompting grieving relatives to gather at the hospital in search of their loved ones.
