His Eminence, Baba Sheikh of the Ezidis, Sheikh Ali Sheikh Elyas, calls on all parties involved in the ongoing events in Aleppo to exercise restraint, halt the escalation, and prioritize dialogue and understanding, in order to protect civilians and preserve social peace.
He emphasizes that continued tensions will worsen the political and security situation and increase the suffering of the population, highlighting the need for collective efforts to prevent further deterioration and instability in the city and region.
His Eminence also urges the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Syrian Interim Government, and the international community to play a positive role in calming the situation, supporting initiatives to reduce tensions, and promoting peaceful solutions based on dialogue and mutual respect.
In this context, he appeals to all parties to open safe corridors for urgent humanitarian aid to reach the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo, ensure the protection of civilians living there, and guarantee their right to a dignified and safe life, including the Ezidi residents trapped in these neighborhoods, equally with all other communities.
His Eminence stresses that peace and dialogue remain the firm foundation for building a future of security and stability, preserving human dignity, and ensuring the right to live safely.
