The Ezidi Supreme Spiritual Council held its regular meeting today at the Guest House of the Lalish Temple, chaired by His Highness Prince Hazim Tahsin Beg, Prince of the Ezidis in Iraq and around the world, and Head of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, with a primary focus on the preparations for the Jamaa (Jema Sheikhadi) Festival. It was decided to form specialized committees to oversee various aspects of the celebration and to develop comprehensive plans addressing security, administration, and media coverage. These efforts aim to ensure the proper observance of religious rituals in a manner that honors the sanctity of the Lalish Temple, while also facilitating visits by pilgrims and well-wishers and removing any logistical barriers.
The council also reviewed proposed amendments to the Law of the Endowments Office for Christians, Ezidis, and Mandaeans. Members offered their legal observations and opinions, stressing the importance of ensuring fairness and justice for all religious groups included under the office.
The session concluded with the council issuing formal responses to a number of official letters it had received, which required official replies.
