President Masoud Barzani held a phone call with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, according to an official statement from Barzani’s office.
During the conversation, President al-Sharaa updated Barzani on the latest political and security developments in Syria, noting that an agreement has recently been reached with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), without providing further details.
