His Holiness Baba Sheikh, Sheikh Ali Sheikh Elias, strongly condemned and denounced the targeting of the residence of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, describing it as a dangerous act aimed at undermining the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region and threatening social peace across the wider area.
His Eminence stressed that this attack does not only target the President personally, but also affects the safety and security of all the people of Kurdistan. He noted that President Nechirvan Barzani is known for his calls for peace, his continuous efforts to promote understanding, and his prominent role as a bridge for dialogue among various Iraqi and regional parties.
He further stated that such acts represent desperate attempts to sow discord, fuel conflict, and destabilize the relative stability enjoyed by the region, reaffirming his firm rejection of anything that threatens public security or disrupts coexistence.
He concluded his statement by praying for the protection of the people of Kurdistan and Iraq, for the continuation of peace and stability, and for the safety of President Nechirvan Barzani from all harm.
