On the occasion of the Ezidi New Year (Çarşema Nîsanê), which falls on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, His Holiness Baba Sheikh, Sheikh Ali Sheikh Ilyas, extends his highest congratulations and warmest blessings to all Ezidis in Kurdistan, Iraq, and around the world.
His Holiness prays to the Almighty Creator to return this blessed occasion to all Ezidis with الخير والبركات, and to grant all humanity security and harmony. He further supplicates that peace may prevail across the region and that the scourge of wars be kept away from our beloved homeland.
On this sacred day, we call upon the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to undertake serious and responsible efforts to rebuild Sinjar and to provide suitable conditions for the dignified and safe return of the displaced to their original homes, ensuring their stability and the future of their generations.
His Holiness also affirmed that this feast—symbolizing the formation of the universe and the rebirth of life—is a renewed call to hold fast to our roots and preserve the firm values and pillars of our ancient faith, so it remains a source of pride for generations, as it has always been.
