After Decades of Absence, a Poetry Collection by Martyr Poet Arjan Mari Published

Sema

A new poetry collection titled “Ez Dê Mirm Kurdistan Namirt – I Will Die, but Kurdistan Will Never Die” by the late poet and Anfal martyr Arjan Mari has recently been published. The collection was prepared and compiled through the joint efforts of journalist Karwan Baadri, Media Director of the Lalish Center and supervisor of Sema TV, along with Mr. Omar Fakhri.

The collection includes a number of poems written in Kurdish, now made available to readers and those documenting Kurdish literary heritage.

Martyr Arjan Mari, originally from Baadre subdistrict, was regarded as one of the prominent Ezidi poets who dedicated his writings to national and humanitarian causes. He later became one of the victims of the infamous Anfal operations in 1988, during which he was martyred alongside thousands of innocent Kurdish civilians.

The publication of this collection marks an important step in documenting the literary legacy of Anfal victims and preserving the memory of a poet whose message lives on — that poets may pass away, but homelands remain eternal.
