President Barzani Congratulates the 33rd Anniversary of the Establishment of the “Lalish” Center and Praises Its Role in Preserving Ezidi Traditions

President Masoud Barzani on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Lalish Cultural and Social Center, praising the vital role the center has played in serving the Ezidi community and preserving Kurdish heritage.

In his message, President Barzani stated: “On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Lalish Center, I extend my warmest congratulations to the High Committee, members, staff of the center, and all our Ezidi brothers and sisters.”

President Barzani expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Ezidi intellectuals and cadres through the center over the past three decades, emphasizing that “the Lalish Center has provided remarkable and commendable services in serving the Ezidi community, protecting authentic Kurdish culture, and preserving the ancient Ezidi customs and traditions.”

He concluded his message by expressing support for the center’s cultural mission, saying: “While we highly appreciate your efforts, we wish the Lalish Center continued success and progress, and we wish all our Ezidi brothers and sisters a life of peace, security, and happiness.”

Founded on May 12, 1993, in the city of Duhok, the “Lalish” Center is regarded as one of the leading cultural institutions dedicated to the religious, social, and historical affairs of the Ezidi community. The center has played a key role in introducing and documenting Ezidi culture to the world.
