Seven years after the formation of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), led by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the government’s efforts have resulted in continued support for all components of Kurdistan, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds, with particular attention given to the Ezidi community both within the Kurdistan Region and in Kurdish areas outside the KRG’s administration.
Throughout its term, the KRG, under Barzani’s leadership, has played a pivotal role in bringing the Ezidi cause to the international stage through its ministries and institutions. The government has also maintained ongoing support for the most affected members of the Ezidi community, especially survivors of ISIS atrocities.
Among the government’s notable achievements was the inauguration of the road leading to the Sacred Lalish Temple, attended by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. The project has significantly improved access to the holy site, allowing larger numbers of visitors and making it easier for Ezidis from across the region to reach their most sacred place of worship.
For many across Kurdistan, Masrour Barzani has become a strong voice for the people of Kurdistan in all their religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity, and a leader who remains present and engaged on every front.
