Another Group of ISIS Families Arrives to Mosul

Sema

The Iraqi authorities revealed today, Saturday, March 29, 2025, that the 24th batch of families from the Al-Hol camp in the countryside of Al-Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria, has arrived at the Al-Jad’ah camp in Nineveh. The batch includes more than 180 families, consisting of over 680 people, including dozens of women and children, heading to Mosul. This transfer is part of the ongoing operation to move families by the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.

The Al-Hol camp in northern Syria is one of the largest and most dangerous camps, housing the families of ISIS militants, with thousands of women and children from various nationalities. Since 2021, the Iraqi government, in cooperation with international organizations, has been executing a plan to repatriate Iraqi families from the camp to Iraq. They are being received at the Al-Jad’ah camp for social and psychological rehabilitation, according to officials working on the matter. However, there have been recurring local objections, especially from the families of ISIS victims in Nineveh, who are concerned about the return of these families to their communities.
